Origin: India, Darjeeling
Tea Estate: Thurbo

Dry leaves:
Aspect: lovely large, gently rolled leaves with plenty of fat golden buds.
Colour: dark brown, red and golden.
Scents: very sweet: vanilla, floral, pronounced fruity notes and a hint of wax-polished wood.

Brewed leaves:
Scents: sweet, very delicate, floral (rose, geranium), almond, nut, yellow fruit and vanilla (vanilla sugar).

Liquor:
Colour: a clear, gleaming liquor with a coppery colour.
Texture: a supple texture with a light smoothness that gives this tea texture and roundness.
Flavours: a sweet flavour right from the start, reinforcing the mild, sweet notes, then comes a delicate acidity, bringing character.
Aromas: pronounced floral (white flowers, rose, geranium), a spicy accent, hints of orangey citrus and vanilla, and a touch of light caramel.
Aromatic profile and length in the mouth: a very pronounced length. The woody, honey, nutty notes develop later. They are rich, and gradually evolve in the mouth. This tea is incredibly harmonious.

Our verdict:
A tea with an incredibly harmonious succession of notes! Round and sweet in the mouth, the mild sweetness precedes a delicate acidity, sustaining the many aromas that develop throughout: floral, spicy, vanilla. These are followed by woody, honey notes that linger in the mouth. A harmonious miracle!

Throughout the year, our experts travel in the tea plantations looking for the best pluckings and new, rare, delicious teas.

The fact that we travel so extensively, that we taste and buy on location has many advantages and allows us to find rare crops by looking outside the traditional supplier circuit, to taste and to share with you the harvests of small plantations, which are often hidden away.

Visiting tea estates regularly and thereby establishing long-lasting relations with our suppliers allows us to guarantee regular quality control of the teas we buy, and to continue our mission: to bring you the best quality teas and to share our travels and experience with you, while concerning ourselves with environmental issues, working conditions on the estates and the fair trade practices to which we adhere.
