Information about our teas

How many teas are available in Le Palais des Thés' collection?
Approximately 250 loose teas are available, teas from different countries of origin (China, Japan, India...) and of all types (white tea, green tea, black tea, flavoured tea...). They are offered in different packagings: packets of 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg, caddies and muslin tea bags.

Sampling policy
Free samples are added to your order in order to enable you to taste different types of teas. We also propose several discovering kits of tea samples (presented in 12g metal tubes).

How to prepare my tea?
Preparing tea is an essential condition to making the most of your infusion. See our infusion chart for good quantities and times.

Organically grown teas
Le Palais des Thés offers a large range of organically grown teas certified by Ecocert:

• Green teas: Grand Jasmine Dao Ren Mao Feng, Yuncui Imperial, Gunpowder.
• Black teas: Darjeeling Tongsong, Yunnan de Mai, Earl Grey.
• Smoky black tea: Lapsang Souchong Xu Xing Shan.
• Oolong : Wu Long Fu Lian.

Choosing the right tea for me
Use the scrollable list of tea categories, or browse into the tea catalogue via the head menu of the home page.

Unit sales, packaging, discouts
For loose teas:
For a quantity of 100 g to 400 g, the sale unit is 100 g.
For 500 g or more of one type of tea, only multiples of 500 g are available.
5% discount on 500 g of one type of tea in one single packet.
10% discount on 1 kg or more of one type of tea.
Teas are also available in other packaging (gourmet tea bags, tea boxes…).

How do I place an order?
Please indicate the quantity or weight required for each article selected.
You can finalize your order by clicking on the corresponding button or continue your shopping using the scrollable menu at the bottom of the page.
To complete your order, simply enter your Théophile customer number (located on the reverse-side of your Théophile card, below the bar code), or if you do not have any, please enter your details in full. You will also be able to enter a special address for delivery.
The purchase order outlines the details of your purchases, indicates the shipping costs and the total amount due. By selecting a payment card you will be given access to the secure mode where you can enter your card details in total security.

My order confirmation
After checkout, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

Shipping rules
Orders are dispatched by the end of the next business day. Orders are usually delivered to EU countries within a few days (3/4 days for UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg - 1 week for other EU countries). For non EU countries, orders are usually delivered within 2 weeks (4 days for Switzerland and Norway - 1 week for USA and Canada).
Shipping costs are quoted automatically on the web order form, at time of checkout, based on the weight of your order and the country of delivery.
For UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, Austria, Holland, Denmark, Ireland, Portugal: Shipping cost for parcels up to 5 kg: 8 €

Offer a gift and send your personal message
You can select another recipient for delivery, in order to send a gift and enclose your personal message. You will be asked to check the corresponding box and to type your message in the corresponding fields. A letter with your personal message will be enclosed with the parcel, packaging will be standard and the invoice will be sent to you by mail separately.

Payment - Security

Secure payment
To ensure secured online transactions, payments made by bank cards on the Le Palais des Thés site are processed using the SSL protocol. It automatically checks the validity of user-rights for payment and encrypts all data exchanged to ensure maximum confidentiality.

Credit cards accepted
Accepted credit cards for the online secured payment: VISA, EUROCARD, MASTERCARD.

The Théophile card - Loyalty benefits

Théophile benefits
The Théophile card gives you access to a number of benefits, available on our website, mail-order purchases and in Le Palais des Thés stores:

• Enjoy a 10% discount on all purchases for one year (except books: maximum legal discount of 5% applies).
• Take advantage of preferential rates for a number of special offers and receive exclusive gifts.

Becoming a Théophile
We keep an automatic running total of your online purchases. When your total purchase amount reaches €80 within a year, we send you your numbered Théophile card by post.
Your Théophile card can then be used for future purchases, allowing you to enjoy a number of benefits, including the 10% discount.

My personal data protection
To complete an order, you must share with us contact information (name, e-mail and shipping address) and billing information (credit card number and expiration date). This information is used to create an account to process and ship your order.
Le Palais des Thés is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We do not sell or rent this information to any third party. The only two companies with whom some information are shared are La Poste (French Post) and ATOS.
We use La Poste to ship orders, and ATOS to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
In accordance with the French data protection of 6 January 1978 law No. 78-17 amended, the CUSTOMER is entitled to access, modify, rectify and remove personal data. Requests of this type should be addressed to LE PALAIS DES THES, by letter:
