Origin: Nepal, Guranse

Colours: copper, brown, khaki.
Scents: honey to start, with woody, leather and floral-rose notes combined with spicy, peppery hints.
Liquor
Colour: a clear, gleaming liquor with a lovely coppery-orange colour.
Texture: a supple, round texture to start, followed by astringency in the middle and back ofthe mouth, which gives this tea plenty of presence.
Flavours: sweet and acidic.
Aromas: honey and woody, citrus hints (orange type), followed by an elegant rose note thatdevelops in the middle and back of the mouth, while mingling with a woody note and spicyaccents.
Aromatic profile and length in the mouth: very round and full in the mouth to start, with avery pleasant length (rose, citrus, woody).
Our verdict: A second flush from the Guranse garden, located on one of the highest peak in the world, with which we have enjoyed trusting relations for many years. Deliciously sweet and warm,it develops the typical qualities of second flush pluckings from Nepal: woody, honey andspicy, softened by rose and citrus notes. The supple and round texture, combined with adelicate astringency, gives it a good presence in the mouth. A superb tea, and an excellentintroduction to the Guranse garden.
Throughout the year, our experts travel in the tea plantations looking for the best pluckings and new, rare, delicious teas.
The fact that we travel so extensively, that we taste and buy on location has many advantages and allows us to find rare crops by looking outside the traditional supplier circuit, to taste and to share with you the harvests of small plantations, which are often hidden away.
Visiting tea estates regularly and thereby establishing long-lasting relations with our suppliers allows us to guarantee regular quality control of the teas we buy, and to continue our mission: to bring you the best quality teas and to share our travels and experience with you, while concerning ourselves with environmental issues, working conditions on the estates and the fair trade practices to which we adhere.
