Origin: Nepal
Tea colour: black tea

Dry leaves
Aspect: lovely large leaves with plenty of silver buds.
Colour: pale green, khaki, coppery-brown.
Scents: citrus, vegetal and fresh floral notes combined with sweet vanilla, toasted and chocolate aromas.

Brewed leaves (infusion)
Scents: citrus, yellow fruit, fresh floral, sweet vanilla, butter and brioche.

Liquor
Colour: a lovely orangey colour.
Texture: full and thick, very smooth and pleasing.
Flavours: sweet.
Aromas: an attack of pronounced floral scents (orange blossom, rose) and yellow fruit (apricot, a hint of mango), with citrus (orange), sweet vanilla, butter and brioche notes.
Aromatic profile and length in the mouth: the notes develop very harmoniously and succeed one another without interruption. A delicate length but with a good presence, fresher and more vegetal than the attack while retaining fruit and citrus notes.

Our verdict: This black tea from Nepal develops a round, smooth profile. Its rich bouquet has lovely floral, yellow fruit and brioche notes. The smooth texture perfectly complements the long sweet, delicate notes. An excellent tea for those who enjoy clonal Darjeelings!

Throughout the year, our experts travel in the tea plantations looking for the best pluckings and new, rare, delicious teas.

The fact that we travel so extensively, that we taste and buy on location has many advantages and allows us to find rare crops by looking outside the traditional supplier circuit, to taste and to share with you the harvests of small plantations, which are often hidden away.

Visiting tea estates regularly and thereby establishing long-lasting relations with our suppliers allows us to guarantee regular quality control of the teas we buy, and to continue our mission: to bring you the best quality teas and to share our travels and experience with you, while concerning ourselves with environmental issues, working conditions on the estates and the fair trade practices to which we adhere.
