BANCHA HOJICHA
Bancha teas can also be grilled. It is a simple operation and Japanese teashops often roast their tea themselves. On grilling the Bancha tea takes on a brown colour and a very pleasing woody aroma. It is excellent with meals, especially with fish. It is a very thirst quenching tea that is low in caffeine, ideal in the evening.
Prepare iced tea: Put 15 to 20 g of green tea leaves into 1 L of room temperature water. Leave it to brew for 30 minutes, drain and place in the fridge to chill.
