Origin: Darjeeling Tea estate: Singbulli Batch number: DJ 24 Grade: S.F.T.G.F.O.P.1 Tea colour: black tea Length of infusion: 3’30 - 4’ Water temperature: 85°C
Dry leaves Appearance: very rich in silvery buds. Scents: very fruity (cooked fruit) against a toasted and vanilla backdrop.
Brewed leaves (infusion) Scents: bouquet of flowers and fruit (orange-blossom, citrus fruit, apricots, peaches, etc.) with the occasional planty accent.
Liquor Texture: good presence throughout the mouth. Aromas: initial heady floral note (peony, orange-blossom) which lasts throughout the tasting process. Lots of planty freshness against a toasted backdrop. Aromatic profile and length in the mouth: the citrus note is surprisingly long in the mouth..
Our verdict: This tea is a celebration of zesty notes and citrus. This Singbulli grower has treated us to a Darjeeling with complex and delicate notes whose fragility often makes them difficult to obtain. As delicate as lace, Singbulli has once again impressed us with the quality of its tea harvests.
