Description
Located in Mirik valley, Gopaldhara is one of the highest tea estates in Darjeeling and is known forexquisite quality clonal teas. In the year 1881, the original planters started planting teas on lush green paddy fields that belonged to a person named ‘Gopal’. As the paddy fields were interspersed with numerous natural streams, called ‘dharas’ in the local language, a combination of the two gave the name ‘Gopaldhara’ to the planted tea fields.
This autumn flush marks a shift from traditional offerings from Darjeeling, a region renowned for itsproduction of black teas. This is an oolong, which means it is subject to partial oxidation. A tea that is a fresh yet gourmet experience, with notes of zest, almond and toast. The delicately incisive texture ensures a fresh taste with a long finish. A rare and atypical tea.
