Description

From the Yellow Mountains in Anhui, this green tea bears the name of the monk, Da Fang, said to have created it during the Song dynasty. He lived at the top of Lao Zhu Feng in the valley of the “Ding Gu” ridge. Like Long Jing tea, the leaf shape of Ding Gu Da Fang is flat, due to the wok processing which removes more moisture and concentrates the flavours. Some China tea experts even think it is theancestor of Long Jing.

This green tea is a vegetal and fruity first flush with notes of roasted chestnuts. Its delicately astringent texture offers the notes a long finish.

The Choice of Francois-Xavier Delmas

Tea sommelier Expert and Founder of Palais Des Thés

This famous spring tea is made in a wok, resulting in a folded leaf, in much the same way as Long Jing tea. This tea is also primarily nutty, vegetal and toasted.
