A Japanese Fukamushi green tea with a powerful and enveloping umami.
This Grand Cru, from the prestigious first harvest (known as ichibancha in Japanese), is harvested on Tanegashima Island, south of Kagoshima Prefecture. It is crafted from the Saemidori cultivar (the equivalent of a grape variety for wine), an exceptional variety prized for its roundness and natural sweetness.
Distinguished by a unique manufacturing technique, this Japanese tea undergoes a steaming process two to three times longer than that of a traditional sencha! Thanks to this method, it releases a superior aromatic intensity and a denser, almost velvety liquor.
On the palate, this spring tea deploys a silky texture. Its aromatic bouquet, both fresh and powerful, blends vegetal fragrances with buttery notes and marine nuances. Upon tasting, a pronounced umami flavor unfolds, balanced by a touch of sweetness and a very subtle acidity, lingering beautifully on an iodized finish.
