Description
This unique Kenyan Grand Cru is inspired by oolong. It owes its designation as a "purple tea" to the TRFK 306/1 cultivar, which gives its liqueur an attractive pale-pink colour and is renowned for its high concentration of antioxidants.
After 25 years of studies, the Tea Research Foundation of Kenya created a variety of tea with purple leaves, the TRFK 306 cultivar. Its purple colour is due to the fact that its leaves are rich in anthocyanins, which are natural pigments also found in blueberries, blackberries and so on.Anthocyanins are an important source of antioxidants, and this tea is said to have many health benefits.
A Kenyan tea with mineral, vegetal, floral and artichoke notes. Its delicately astringent texture ensures a particularly long finish.
