The Qingming festival (5 April) marks the start of the spring harvest. This tea was plucked before the festival, and is particularly rare.
Long Jing, or Dragon's Well, from Zhejiang province, has folded leaves that are fired in a wok using a very specific motion.
The very best Long Jing quality. Both delicate and powerful, this Grand Cru boasts vegetal, mineral, metallic, toasted and gourmet notes.
Appearance: leaves and buds delicately folded
Colour: golden
Texture: silky
Notes: fresh hazelnut, mineral, floral, peanut, floral, toasted
Prepare this tea warm:
With the teapot or the tasting set: 4 minutes in water heated to 170°F.
With the gong fu cha: multiple infusions during 30-40 seconds.
Also delicious iced:
Steep 8 g in 50 cl of water at room temperature 45 min. Remove the tea leaves and refrigerate.
Rare and ephemeral, teas identified as Grands Crus by Palais des Thés are the result of alchemy between a tea plant variety, its terroir and the talent of an artisan grower. Meticulously plucked, processed and sourced in the most respected tea gardens, our Grands Crus unveil unique flavours that reflect the refinement of their origins.
