This tea is made in the area surrounding Koyu, located in the east of the island of Kyushu. It is produced from the renowned Yabukita cultivar. This sencha was harvested in April: Ichibancha teas (made from the first harvest) are especially complex.
A Grand Cru with intense vegetal, fruity and iodised fragrances which develop against a round texture with delicately powdered tannins.
In order for this tea to develop its full aromatic complexity, multiple infusions should be performed in a Kyusu or a Shiboridashi. It is also possible to prepare it as an iced tea (infusion with ice cubes).
This tea is grown organically and certified by Ecocert, an accredited independent certification body.
