A Himalayan black tea with a bright and velvety profile.
This spring Grand Cru is harvested in Nepal’s Ilam Valley, nestled at an altitude of over 1,600 meters.
Crafted by Xempoo, a young and talented tea maker, it is the product of the very first harvest of the year, made from the finest white buds (the most noble and subtle part of the tea plant).
This spring harvest unfolds fruity and citrus notes, evolving into a floral and toasted heart before drawing out into a delicate almond finish, all supported by a remarkably smooth mouthfeel.
To prepare this tea hot:
Using a tasting set or teapot: 3 minutes and 45 seconds in water at 85°C (185°F).
To prepare this iced tea:
Using a teapot or carafe: steep 8 g of leaves in 50 cl of room-temperature water for 35 minutes. Remove the leaves and place in the fridge.
Rare and ephemeral, teas identified as Grands Crus by Palais des Thés are the result of alchemy between a tea plant variety, its terroir and the talent of an artisan grower. Meticulously plucked, processed and sourced in the most respected tea gardens, our Grands Crus unveil unique flavours that reflect the refinement of their origins.
