Description

Shincha ("new teas") or Ichibancha ("first harvest") teas, are teas harvested in the spring, and are highly sought-after by tea lovers. This tea is harvested 350 metres above sea level in Kirishima (Kagoshima). It is made from a rare varietal known as Okumidori.

Its velvety texture, combined with its aromatic profile consisting of vivacious vegetal, fruity and marine notes, make this a powerful Sencha Ichibancha.

This tea is grown organically and certified by Ecocert, an accredited independent certification body.

The Choice of Francois-Xavier Delmas

Tea sommelier Expert and Founder of Palais Des Thés

In Japan, most teas are produced from one dominant cultivar: the Yabukita. It is interesting to taste Grands Crus made from other cultivars, such as the slower-sprouting Okumidori here. An amazing discovery.
