This Grand Cru is not made from the traditional Camellia sinensis tea plant, but from a different shrub called Camellia taliensis. This endemic species has the particularity of producing buds with numerous offshoots.
A rare and atypical Grand Cru. Sweet and oily, it reveals exquisite fruity notes of damson, grapefruit and exotic fruits. An incredible gustative experience, ideal with the gong fu cha method!
Appearance: harvest consisting exclusively of numerous buds
Colour: pale gold
Texture: oily
Notes: fruity (damson, grapes, exotic fruits, grapefruit), floral (intense rose), hints of liquorice, mild spices (vanilla)
With the tasting set or a teapot: 8 minutes in water heated to 185°F.
With the gong fu cha: infusions during 30-40 seconds.
Also delicious iced.
Rare and ephemeral, teas identified as Grands Crus by Palais des Thés are the result of alchemy between a tea plant variety, its terroir and the talent of an artisan grower. Meticulously plucked, processed and sourced in the most respected tea gardens, our Grands Crus unveil unique flavours that reflect the refinement of their origins.
