Description

The intensity of China’s most famous green tea

Harvested in the heart of spring 2026 amidst the lush green landscapes of Zhejiang province, Long Jing is a true gem of Chinese tradition. Known and revered by the poetic name ‘Dragon Well’, this green tea derives its distinctive character from an exceptionally delicate harvest comprising buds and young shoots.

Its unique production process relies on the time-honoured techniques of tea makers: the leaves are shaped and delicately folded by hand in a hot wok with infinite precision. This artisanal shaping process halts oxidation and gives the leaf its iconic flat shape, whilst sealing in the richness of its aromas.

The infusion reveals a golden-hued liquor, complemented by a delicately powdery texture.

On the palate, this exceptional Grand Cru strikes a perfect balance between power and smoothness. The lively, herbaceous attack intertwines with indulgent notes of nuts such as roasted chestnut and peanut, complemented by toasty hints and a subtle minerality on the palate.

All About Long Jing

• The legend of Long Jing: it is said that at the foot of a lush green mountain in Hangzhou, the villagers revered a well that was home to a benevolent dragon. This place was surrounded by magnificent tea plantations and, according to legend, every year the dragon would emerge from the well to bring rain to the tea plants and look after the harvest.

• The connoisseur’s secret: according to Chinese tradition, the ultimate flavour of Long Jing is revealed when it is brewed with exceptionally pure water from the famous Tiger Spring.
