This spring tea is from the island of Kyushu, more specifically from Fukuoka. It is made by Mr. Sasano using the asanoka cultivar, which was registered in 1996. Spring harvests are known as ichibancha, and are well known for their complexity.
A fresh and refined first flush sencha, with a delicate umami taste that reveals vegetal, buttery and sea salt notes, enhanced by its thick texture.
