Description

An exceptional Japanese green tea with an umami flavour

Harvested in the heart of spring 2026 in Kagoshima Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, this premium organic tamaryokucha embodies all the expertise of southern Japan’s tea growers. This Grand Cru owes its uniqueness to its remarkable production process, crafted by artisans specialising in this traditional style.

Its poetic name means ‘rolled green tea’, referring to the delicate rolling process that gives its small leaves a twisted, comma-shaped form. This stage of production preserves the freshness of the leaves whilst concentrating the richness of their aromas.

The infusion yields a pale yellow liquor, enhanced by a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel.

On tasting, this green tea reveals sumptuous notes of melt-in-the-mouth chestnut intertwined with delicate marine nuances, enhanced by buttery and milky hints that linger into a gentle, briny finish, all enveloped by a subtle, lingering umami flavour.
