The maritime character of Shibushi’s volcanic soils
Grown at an altitude of over 500 metres in Shibushi, Kagoshima Prefecture, this ichibancha reveals a perfect harmony between the richness of the region’s volcanic soils and the characteristic qualities of the Yabukita cultivar.
On tasting, this Shincha Yabukita offers a beautifully intense flavour experience, where marine and iodine notes blend with hints of cut grass and fresh hazelnut.

Hot Tea Preparation:
Using a tasting set or teapot: Steep for 3 minutes in water at 70°C (160°F).
Traditional preparation: Ideal with a kyusu or shiboridashi.
Iced Tea Preparation:
Using a teapot or carafe: Infuse 8g of leaves in 50 cl of room-temperature water for 30 minutes. Remove the leaves and place in the refrigerator.
