This black tea is made in the Satemwa plantation, where small growers work closely together in an association. It is made by Alexander Kay, who has managed this family-run farm for years.
This Grand Cru boasts a surprising bouquet of aromas, combining fruity, floral and honeyed notes and supported by a powdered texture.
Appearance: large and slighty twisted leaves
Colour: orange
Texture: astringency
Notes: fruity (stewed fruits), honeyed, floral (lily), woody, waxed, smoky hints
Prepare this tea warm:
With the teapot or the tasting set: 4 minutes in water heated to 195°F.
With the Gong Fu Cha: infusions during 30-40 seconds.
Prepare this tea iced:
In a teapot or carafe: infuse 16 g of leaves per liter of water at room temperature for 30 minutes. Remove the leaves and store in the fridge.
Rare and ephemeral, teas identified as Grands Crus by Palais des Thés are the result of alchemy between a tea plant variety, its terroir and the talent of an artisan grower. Meticulously plucked, processed and sourced in the most respected tea gardens, our Grands Crus unveil unique flavours that reflect the refinement of their origins.
