Description
This Grand Cru comes from the Cauca Valley, Colombia. It is harvested at between 1,800 and 2,100 metres above sea level on the Andes mountain range. This high-altitude soil provides exceptional climatic conditions for growing tea plants.
A powerful green tea, characterized by an elegant astringency which supports vegetal, mineral and fruity notes.
This tea comes from a small farming community located at an altitude of 2100 metres. Made up of twenty workers, it works in harmony to guarantee access to drinking water, electricity and scholarship opportunities for all the inhabitants of the surrounding area. The dense morning fog encourages the tea bushes to grow slowly, while exposure to the sun in the middle of the day helps to subtly refine the tea’s fragrances.
The estate covers 200 hectares, but only 70 of these are dedicated to tea growing. This is due to the presence of wooded areas between the tea crops, creating a veritable nature reserve that is home to over 176 different species.
