This is a unique Batabatacha. Unlike the Batabatacha from Toyama, the Itoigawa variety is not a fermented tea. It is made up of 40% classic Bancha, 40% Chamaecrista and 20% Daizu (soybean), a very rare tea!
This tea reveals highly intense toasted notes, as well as coffee bean, cereal and strong liquorice notes, which are all enhanced by a powerful sweet taste.
Appearance: small leaves, stems, bean pods, toasted beans
Colour: orange
Texture: silky
Notes: intense roasted notes, coffee bean, vanilla, woody, liquorice, stewed fruits, grains
With the tasting set or a teapot: 5 minutes in water heated to 195°F.
This tea is also delicious iced : steep 8 g/0.4OZ in 50 cl of water at room temperature 30 min. Remove the tea leaves and refrigerate.
Allergen : Soya
Rare and ephemeral, teas identified as Grands Crus by Palais des Thés are the result of alchemy between a tea plant variety, its terroir and the talent of an artisan grower. Meticulously plucked, processed and sourced in the most respected tea gardens, our Grands Crus unveil unique flavours that reflect the refinement of their origins.
